Em's easy Egg Cosies
Very simple egg cosie pattern. Cheer up the breakfast table :D
3.5mm needles small quantities of wool
CO 30 st
K1 P1 Rib for 2 cm
Continue in stocking stitch for 10 rows
Knit 15, turn
P1 P2tog P to last three stitches, P2 tog P1(13st)
Next row Knit
Next row Purl
Next row P1 P2tog purl to last three stitches P2 tog P1 (11st)
Next row Knit
Next row Purl
Next row P1 P2tog purl to last three stitches P2 tog P1 (9st)
Next row K2tog K2 passing 1st completed stitch over 2nd repeat to end
Next row cast off , break yarn
Rejoin yarn at 15 remaining stitches
Knit 15
P1 P2tog P to last three stitches, P2 tog P1(13st)
Next row Knit
Next row Purl
Next row P1 P2tog purl to last three stitches P2 tog P1 (11st)
Next row Knit
Next row Purl
Next row P1 P2tog purl to last three stitches P2 tog P1 (9st)
Next row K2tog K2 passing 1st completed stitch over 2nd repeat to end
Next row cast off , break yarn
To complete sew edges together. Add embroidery if desired
For bird version , make cosie in yellow, embroider beak in green, make 'comb/hair' by stitching loops into top of cosie
For striped version, alternate colours every 4 rows throughout after ribbing complete

ReplyDeletesorry am I being completely dense but when you start decreasing, why do you purl and then p2tog p1 p to the end? the picture does not seem to show a reversal of stitching? I do Love the picture though and was going to knit some for the rainbow trust children's charity for easter if that's ok with you?
